Project Plans

Antonyms is the topic Lejla and I decided to teach.

To start the lesson hour we gonna make some sort of warm up activity (a game). Then we will explain theory (via video and power point) and work on some examples on blackboard. After that students will be asked to do some exercises and finally homework will be given.

How technology and media can influence the teaching process and what problems may occur.

The use of technology or media during a lesson hour can influence students, teacher and the process of learning. Technology can assist teachers and accelerate students’ learning by using teaching tools and motivating students to learn. Not only can tablets, apps, video and interactive whiteboards be learning tools for students, but they can be additional teaching tools for educators. Interactive presentation tools, video clips, graphics and other audio visual elements are a simple way to keep students actively engaged in lessons, as well as a means to keep your lessons fresh.
Furthermore, no child is the same. Every student learns at his or her own pace. There are many ways that integrating technology into the classroom can help students learn at a rate that is comfortable to them, and that allows them to retain information. For example, in-classroom lessons or activities on laptops or tablets allow students to read directions, process information and complete work at their own pace. This also helps free up the teacher’s time so they can give students who may need extra guidance or assistance the attention they require.
Nevertheless, in our country teachers may face an important difficulty as it concerns the use of technology during the lesson hour. The inability to support it. While technology can be a great addition to the classroom, it also can be a source of frustration for both the teacher and the student. Unless the teacher is well trained in technology and can support the hardware in the classroom, a technology expert will be needed to troubleshoot problems. If schools cannot support the purchased technology, it essentially renders it useless in times of crisis or disrepair. Additionally, technology often needs frequent maintenance to keep it in good condition for use.

ESL Skills

When it comes to antonyms the teaching of them should be based on listening and speaking ESL skills.
In general listening and speaking skills are important because through using language and hearing how others use it, children become able to describe the world, make sense of life's experiences and get things done. They learn to use language as a tool for thinking, collectively and alone.
Teaching antonyms through listening and speaking could be very beneficial and practical  for pupils because helps them understand better theory, practice theory  immediately through examples and that can lead to better memorization.
It`s not wrong to use all four ESL skills to teach antonyms, on the contrary it could be very interesting too. But I thing focusing on these two at the beginning could be easier and effective.

Antonyms

Hello everyone! The project Lejla and I have to present is about "Antonyms".
I'm very excited about this project. I think it would be very helpful for us to experience a real life situation of teaching.
Good luck to all of us!

Hello everyone!!
After reading about project based learning I found it very interesting and beneficial method for students to deal with. Students should be given a real-world problem that they need to solve in a creative and authentic way. To do this, they would need to study, understand , research , then use their writing and speaking skills. In other words  a project~based classroom allows students to investigate questions, propose hypotheses and explanations, discuss their ideas, challenge the ideas of others and try out new ideas.

Writing Objectives

In our profession writing clear course objectives is important because objectives define what you will have the students do. Objectives provide a link between expectations, teaching and grading. Clear objectives can help the instructor design lessons that will be easier for the student to comprehend and the teacher to evaluate. A properly written objective tells you what specific knowledge, skill, or attitude is desired and what method of instruction and criteria for learner achievement are required. The ABCD method of writing objectives is an excellent starting point for writing objectives. In this system, "A" is for audience (who are your learners?) , "B" is for behavior (what do you expect them to be able to do?)  "C" for conditions (Under what circumstances or context will the learning occur?)  and "D" for degree of mastery needed (how much will be accomplished, how well will the behavior need to be performed, and to what level?).

Cooperative Learning.

What i understood from the videos is that the Kagan Structures are actually revolutionary strategies different than traditional teaching that some teachers choose to use. After watching the materials i felt motivated and inspired to put in practice cooperative learning for the reason that this method of teaching  gave me the impression that it could be very beneficial for both teachers and students. As researches have shown, with this technique students see the procedure of learning with a positive perspective. Furthermore they appear development of thinking skills and improved social relations. They also tend to participate more and to achieve highly records of success. Except from that children trained by Kagan structures tend to show caring attitude for their classmates and discipline problems  among them are almost nonexistent. For these reasons as a future teacher i would definitely choose to use this technique because except from student friendly is teacher friendly too due to its easy and time saving structure.
